The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is confronting all of us with circumstances we have never witnessed before. Air Antwerp continues its efforts to assist you‚ our passengers‚ as much as possible. This page serves to provide you with up-to-date information about the temporary measures implemented by Air Antwerp to protect yourself‚ our crew and the employees of our partners to the best of our abilities. Seeing that the situation continuously changes at a fast pace‚ additional and deviating changes could be made at any time. The changes described on this page will be valid up to and including 31 August 2021 at this time.


Does Air Antwerp still operate its flights?

All scheduled flights on the route Antwerp Airport-London City Airport are cancelled until after the Summer months.  The situation will be re-evaluated during August 2021. 

Please note that Air Antwerp cannot guarantee that any proposed flight schedule will be maintained and that further changes can occur at any time.

Can Air Antwerp flights still be booked?

Yes. All flights that are currently scheduled to operate can be booked via our website and all other regular channels.


What happens in case of cancellation or rescheduling?

If you hold an Air Antwerp booking (WP code) on a flight that is cancelled or rescheduled to other timings‚ you will be notified by e-mail.

  • If your flight is rescheduled your reservation will remain valid and you will receive your new booking details and itinerary by e-mail. If these new flight arrangements do not suit your needs‚ please contact Air Antwerp Customer Services (click here) to amend your reservation or request a refund free of charge.
  • If your flight is cancelled‚ your reservation will be cancelled too. We invite you to contact our customer service agents (click here) to change your booking to a future flight or to request either a voucher for the amount paid for your original reservation or a full refund free of charge.

If you made a booking via any other channel than the Air Antwerp website‚ the party with which you made your reservation will inform you about any changes.


Are passengers eligible for compensation under Regulation EU261/2004?

Now that many passengers are affected by flight disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic‚ there are many questions about passengers' rights when they are affected by a cancellation or a long delay. Air Antwerp upholds your rights as described in Regulation EU261/2004.

What if you no longer wish to use your reservation?

If you do not wish to fly on the flight you had originally booked‚ regardless whether this flight is scheduled within or beyond the window of temporary revised operations described on this page‚ Air Antwerp welcomes you to change your reservation to any other flight and/or change the name(s) of the passenger(s) on the ticket. All Air Antwerp tickets will remain non-refundable. You can make amendments to your booking via our website or by contacting Air Antwerp Customer Services (click here). Air Antwerp temporarily suspends the charging of amendment fees for BASIC bookings so that anyone holding an Air Antwerp booking is able to make changes free of charge. Please note that if your newly selected flight is only available at a higher fare than your originally booked fare‚ you will be required to pay the fare difference.


Which additional preparations are required before travelling?

You have to complete a Passenger Locator Form‚ both for travelling to Belgium and to the United Kingdom. Check-in online wherever possible‚ also to be able to timely provide seating information for the Passenger Locator Form‚ to be completed prior to commencing travel. The Passenger Locator Form must be completed prior to entering Belgium and the UK respectively:

If you are feeling unwell or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms you must not travel. When travelling‚ you must wear a face mask at all times.

Do you have to wear a face mask?

A face mask must be worn by all passengers (aged 6 and over) when travelling during the entire trip as of the moment they enter the airport. Passengers must bring their own masks in sufficient quantities for the total duration of their trip‚ as we are not able to guarantee that one can be provided for you at all airports. Any type of face coverings aside from a suitable face mask covering both nose and mouth is not suitable. Any passengers (aged 6 and over) without a mask will be refused travel. You must wear your mask throughout the entire journey‚ including on board the flight. If your mask becomes dirty or damaged on board‚ our crew will provide you with a replacement.

Which precautions apply at the airport?

London City Airport checks the body temperature of all passengers. Anyone with a temperature above 38° Celsius could be refused access to the terminal.

Desks have been fitted with screens to protect passengers and staff. Gel dispensers will be at your disposal in many areas of the airport.

Social distancing of 1.5 meters in Belgium and 2 meters in the UK are applied within the respective airports.

At Antwerp Airport the security area and gate areas have a reduced maximum capacity to comply with COVID-19 regulations. Waiting times could be long at security so make sure you arrive well ahead of the scheduled departure time.


How is the aircraft boarding organised?

Announcements will be made by ground staff indicating when to report to the boarding counter. You will be required to scan your own boarding pass and show our agents your ID card or passport. Boarding may take place staggered in groups and social distancing must be respected while walking to the aircraft and queueing to enter.


Is it allowed to bring baggage on board the aircraft?

During this exceptional period and strictly for your safety‚ Air Antwerp requests to minimise the use of the overhead bins. Carry-on baggage is still allowed‚ should be fit under the seat in front of you and cannot exceed dimensions of 47‚5 x 35 x 20 cm (18.7 x 13.7 x 7.8 inches). Should your carry-on baggage exceed these maximum outer dimensions‚ it will need to be checked in as hold baggage. There are no additional limitations applicable to hold baggage.


Which measures apply during the flight?

In order to keep yourself‚ other passengers and our staff safe‚ you must keep your facemask on throughout your journey. If your mask becomes dirty or damaged onboard‚ our crew will provide you with a replacement.

You will receive disinfecting wipes to disinfect your personal space (tablet‚ armrests etc.) whenever you wish during the flight. The passenger cabin is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before every flight as well. 

Avoid unnecessary movements in the cabin during boarding and throughout the flight. Any queuing in the aisle or in front of the lavatory is prohibited.

Catering on board is limited to a bottle of still water and a small snack.


How is the aircraft deboarding organised?

Leaving the aircraft may take place in groups of 10 to 15 persons depending on the airport of arrival. Do remain seated on your designated seat until called by cabin crew to disembark. Delivery at aircraft of baggage will not be offered. Kindly proceed to immigration and thereafter to the baggage reclaim belt to collect any baggage carried in the aircraft hold.
